Ok, here is hopefully my best find so far. The last digit of the date, 9, appears to have the top horizontal line of a "7" sticking out from underneath it. Please give me any and all opinions. I am super excited over this. Rare? Valuable? Or is this something I am completely misinterpreting? Thanks in advance.

Something you are misinterpreting. There is no such coin as 1919 over 7.

What is the mark "under" the 9 then? It looked like a 7 to me. It confused me. I thought to myself, why would the mint stamp over a 2 year old coin.

You thought right, the Mint didn't. After nearly 100 years, anything could have caused that mark.

It could be a very small lamination.

or a small struck thru. Not a 1919/7, at any rate.

Quote: why would the mint stamp over a 2 year old coin Overdates are not caused by striking current year coins over older coins. Overdates are caused by using a die from a previous year to make one for the current year (over simplification).

Quote: It could be a very small lamination. That's the most likely explanation to me.

Or a small struck through debris error. I think I see the rest of it on the top of the '9'.
