This weighs 1.96 grams and is 17 millimeters in diameter. It is made of plated brass.

"juge de paix" is French and means "justice of the peace" in English.

Numista has a similar piece listed and says that it is from Switzerland, but there is nothing on its purpose or intended use.

@oriole, on the tokencatalog website, it says that it is French, but offers no additional details (TC-493076):
