@Brewslb, first welcome to CCF. Second, your first quarter may have been struck with a little grease in the die (causing the second letter A to be weak). On the second quarter, that looks like damage to me.

The Saratoga would have to be a struck through. But because these devices are raised on the die, there must have been something like paper or some soft debris grease with some grit on that raised device. (first time I've seen this)

Others should weigh in with their thoughts, but it is my understanding that the missing design features must be pretty significant for the coin to be worth more than face. I don't think that this coin reaches that level.

All die events are worth more when they are the most extreme. Other times when they are common, they may be interesting, but collectors want the extreme examples.
