My wife and I have been putting pennies in jars for 20 years. We finally decided to look at them. I think I found a s over d mint mark. I think it has doubling on the lettering on both sides. Second, I see shelf-like doubling which makes me think that you have common Mechanical Doubling (MD). coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 12/11/2018 8:57 pm Note the motto. It is showing extreme die wear. The mint mark post looks altered and broken a bit. Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 74758 Posts	Posted 12/11/2018 11:15 pm There is also a Die Deterioration issue going on "IGWT", do to a worn die, from striking planchets at the U.S. Mint.
