Friends I ask for your help once more. What do you think of this Balbinus Antony? Thank you!

Without knowing provenance, weight or size, I'd say it looks good to me. The flow marks streaming off the letters occur from the pressure of a warm metal being struck. That's always a good sign to me.

Thank you jskirwin. I also looked at this characteristic, of the lines between the letters and the frame of the coin.

Um ... would it be fake, Bob L?

If that's the same coin, then I think it's fine. If they are not the same exact coin, but share that much detail and flan shape, I would be concerned.

Thank you, Bob L. I was worried. lol. After all, my image is newer than the image of the CNG, and the image of CNG has a hole that is not present in my coin, as on the reverse, above the hands.

I've been playing with the images in Photoshop and they appear to be the same coin with the exception of the damage.
The CNG image is from Sept 2014. Is it possible that's PVC damage?

My first impression is that it's not genuine, the porous surface and soft detail on the reverse makes me think it's fake.

There's porosity due to casting and then there's porosity due to metal crystallization. The former tends to produce pores of varying size while the latter tends to be of uniform size. Based on what I'm seeing I think the coin's porosity is crystallization. CNG notes, "Good VF, toned, slightly granular surfaces."
If CNG is in the business of selling fakes I'm screwed since about a third of my collection is sourced from there.

I got your point, jskirwin. And I hope my coin is not fake. Even so, I trust all of you to consider the case as much as possible. Appreciate!

At least one of them must be a cast fake. I can't think of any other explanation for the similarity.
