I thought this quarter might be unclad. Weighed 5.66 grams.
My wife said patina looked like some of her silver jewelry. Found a silver ? Could this be one? Any information is appreciated.

Very doubtful. The standard weight for a clad quarter is 5.7 grams. A silver quarter should weigh 6.3 grams.

Thank you the information. I appreciate it. I wonder what makes the quarter dark? What are other possibilities I might check?

Most likely environmental toning. Spent time on the ground, or was exposed to a chemical that caused it to change color.

The only thing that I would add is that you might have a die chip in the letter S of TRUST.

The coin was struck with a very tired die. Not a keeper. Just a reclaimed outdoor find. They look red/brown when found outdoors. After carried in the pocket for a time the red turns black. The higher areas on the coin turns back into the normal finish. The fields are the last to turn as wear does happen as much on a flat surface.
