I found this 1999 D LMC CRH and while I have never seen a column DDR for this year this one is slightly different. I truly think this is from die abrasion and not from over polishing. It is not a plating issue as it cannot be pushed flat. Am I correct in my assumption? Thoughts?

Die abrasion and over polishing are pretty much the same thing. Your coin looks like a plating issue to me.

They are John1 with some difference. I have to rule out a plating issue as these cannot be pushed down flat. But, you may be right.

Die abrasion typically results from the die being polished. Seems similar to roller marks to me. Maybe wrong, but some similar lines seem present in the same direction around the memorials periphery as well. Thanks, Doug.

That sounds like a very good explanation. Thank you, Doug.

The bays look interesting, but just beyond the die scratches it looks like it extends beyond on the top and the bottom design area. See if the top and the bottom of the Memorial show the die scratches on these areas also?

Looks like what I though die scratches. If you took the image rotated 90 degrees, the lighting would show the die scratches even stronger. (the light would fall over the scratches, rather than down the die scratches. (but I can still see them on the images provided)
