I don't want to sound crazy as I've only been welcomed to this page 5 minutes ago. Lol but long story short I found a 1963 nickel today in my change from dinner. So having ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what I'm doing I have always collected and just saved couns more as a savings account than anything else.. so I checked online to see it's value and started reading..it appears it's not really worth more than face calue but was intrigued by the full step pictures and articles. (Now here comes the crazy part,) I swear my father who has past whispered to me to go get my coins from the safe, I did and as I sorted through a few stacks I was drawn to this 1961 Nickel. Now what I need is some advice as to me it looks as good or better than anything I find online. Can someone please tell me what this may be worth?

to CCF. If the coin is in proof condition then it should have FS,but if it is in mint state condition then you may have something if it has FS. Need good pics. John1

To CCF , your 1961 Nickel would have to be in MS-67 or 68 to be worth anything of value . Unless it is a major error . Check this out : https://www.PCGS.com/photograde/

IMO nickels are a great starting point for a collector since the entire Jefferson nickel series can still be found in circulation, every coin and mint mark since 1938. Of course, some years will be tougher to find than others.
