teeth? I have all of mine. it's more of a matter of my not liking gmo junk. I prefer real oats, or muesli, over processed cereals. I've been away from cereals for so long that if I eat any now, it just doesn't taste good to me anymore. I used to really enjoy grape nuts. I won't touch them now. funny how there was never anything grapey or nutty... just a satisfying crunch.

I love all the stories on this thread! They really make me think! My late Father always told me he could tell how the economy was going by the money he found in the parking lots of the stores he delivered milk to. (He was a milkman for 40+ years!). Finding nothing meant everyone was picking up their dropped change cause money was tight; finding something meant the economy was better and people didn't cake about the change they dropped. He never factored in time and amounts and surely didn't keep records like MrPink does! I sure miss my Dad and his "wisdom".
As far as cereal goes I miss the old AlphaBits we used to get back in the late 50's and early 60's. The remakes Post tried in the past couldn't cut it and were phased out.

I want the best breakfast I can make for myself before going out the door. I need quick energy, long-lasting energy, antioxidants & protein, plus other good stuff. I don't get enough (or any) good stuff from cereal from a box. their flavors shift occasionally, too, and not for the better. my perfect everyday breakfast during the hottest months is my version of muesli. in the winter months I cook the oats.. year-round oats now, instead of cheerios. coming back around to the cheerios dollar... It's becoming quite a rare event for me to find any kind of coin these days. On Saturday I picked up this 2010 5p from the sidewalk of the main road about 200 yards from my house.  |

good eye, NumisRob. my day started earlier than usual; I was walking thru a parking lot at midday and picked a scorching-hot nickel off the asphalt, the obverse was fine, the reverse was ravaged with road rash. later in the night I picked an additional well-scattered ninety-three cents, and my favorite ice machine provided yet another Sacagawea dollar, a 2000-D, slightly cruddy specimen:   so $1.98 on the night, which is excellent.
