tonight was shaping up to be a bit of a dud until I discovered at my favorite ice machine's coin return 7 quarters:





same ice machine as several nights ago. plus I picked two more quarters near a gas pump on my way out of there. $2.25 from one spot. the rest of the route was nearly barren.

$2.36 on the night. I only had a zincoln and a dime in my pocket before I found all the quarters. after that I just pedaled home.

tonight I picked $2.24 in well-scattered change. running total sits at about $340, almost $200 of that is just coins. 16 weeks to black friday.

recent notable roadkill:

a 195something LWC and a 2016 italian 2 euro.

recent interesting non-roadkill finds:

i picked a 2000 ecuadoran 10 centavos and a 2023 peruvian 10 centimos from two different ice machine coin returns.

the month of july provided just six nights of $1 or more. so far this month I've had two nights of $1+.. actually, both nights were $2+ ($2.18 monday night, plus tonight).

so... cruising right along, hoping to make or surpass the $400-mark by black friday. it's certainly possible, though I don't know how probable. I don't think it's unreasonable to think I will attain that. I'm also comfortable with spot gold lingering in the $3280-$3380 range a while longer, though it looks like gold just poked it's head above $3400 again, almost 4am friday. well, whatever... I hope to turn my large, heavy pile of base metal & cash into a tenth of an ounce of gold at the end of november.
