Found this along with a brass tag from a German Utility http://goccf.com/t/451682) while walking around the streets near Dublin Airport a couple weeks ago. It is a Dirham from the UAE dated 2007 AD. I found this coin right at a public bus stop and so I wonder if some traveler was fishing around in their pocket for change for the bus and this coin dropped to the street. Clearly it has been run over quite a few times.

wow, a UAE roadkill found on a Dublin street! good eye, Spence! that poor thing, I'm glad you removed that carcass from the street. magnificent public service you did there. well done. i had my best night in five nights, finding a whopping eighty-six cents, another bottle of water, and (are you ready for this?) a... ...cucumber. no kidding. i'll get a picture of it later. I'm still waking up.

very tasty. not a thing wrong with it. someone lost it after leaving publix. I had spaghetti with homemade sauce, toasted bread strips with garlic butter, and a big chunk of that cucumber for dinner. I pretended it was a salad. I'm not sure what the cost of a single large cucumber is. i'll have to look next time I go to publix. tonight was my best night in a week, I scored $1.59 in well-scattered change. running total currently $178.97, $8 to go. hopefully I can conclude this cycle before the next tropical thing spins-up in the gulf next week.

MrPink, your cucumber story reminds me of the time about 5 years ago when I found a beef tongue in the middle of the street. Still in plastic wrap on a styrofoam tray from the grocery. Seeing as it was around noon in the middle of summer, it stayed there.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

ewwwww, I would have passed on that, too, Hondo!! I enjoy free food (& water) as much as anyone, I reckon, but I too have my boundaries. in that instance I would've preferred the money instead. pavement-braised beef tongue is not a favorite.

Mr. Pink, is there an interesting story behind getting chased out of Wendy's? I'm guessing somebody thought you were someone suspicious? I haven't had too many bad experiences (though there aren't a lot of drive-through windows around here either), just the incident I mentioned last week as well as getting a "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" once a month or two back.
As far as food finds - I found a box of chocolate chip cookies about a month ago, apparently it had just gotten discarded having been left over from an event. Cookies were sealed, and they looked and tasted perfectly fine - delicious actually.
Back on topic, yesterday I finished just short of my daily goal, at 98 cents. I'm at 20 cents (two dimes) so far today (it's 8 AM right now).

Quote: is there an interesting story behind getting chased out of Wendy's? ..i don't know how interesting it is, but.. sometime in june 2019 I was doing my route, riding around in publix' parking lot looking for $ and taking my time, waiting for wendy's to empty it's last employees out of the building, so I could go examine the drive-up area.. I notice a wendy's employee, chubby kid, eyeing me from the wendy's dumpster & bike rack area (great place for a bike rack), he climbs onto his bike, rides over into the publix parking lot to where I am, begins to ride in circles around me (i was stopped and standing with my bike) holding his cel phone out in one hand tells me he has his manager on the phone, and they see me every night pickin coins from the drive-up area, via security camera, and if I go back onto the property they're calling the cops.. I saluted the kid; the kid-- aghast & bug-eyed-- came to a fast stop and while holding his phone up & out-- showing me his fake dialing-- I rode away, still saluting him, and I told him to lay off the french fries.. I haven't gone back.. let's see... the cholesterol kid is probably still filling out applications for employment at McD & BK.. I'm still doing my thing, and for the record, wendy's wasn't much help, pickins there were always scant-to-non-existant.. so, without the help of wendy's, in 2019 I gained via $treet $timulu$: a 1990 1/10oz AGE a 2019 1/10oz AGE a 2019-W burnished ASE, SP70 and four 2019 ASE bullion coins. last night I found just sixty-five cents, but it was enough to boost my running total over the $180-mark, finally... I am within about $5 of the target, which bobs up & down with the current spot price of Au. almost there.

...after the wendy's event, some conclusions:
-wendy's is a no-go; -any other places with cameras are no-gos; -i never wait around for somewhere to close, now I always hit places that have been closed for hours.. -if a place is still open, but is safe to ride thru, then it is strictly a ride-through, only stopping to nab coins, as long as no eyes are on me.. if a place is still open, I won't be getting off the bike to stand or walk around, unless necessary.. -i now never search an area if there is anyone hanging around nearby, within eyesight.. if there's anyone sitting, curbside, on steps, in a car, or standing anywhere near, and especially if I'm suddenly the object of their interest, I leave.. I don't need to be observed, I don't need anyone catching on to what I'm doing, and I don't need my presence & activity giving anyone any ideas.. -i don't currently need police involvement in any aspect of my life unless/until I have an emergency requiring police assistance, therefore I do whatever is necessary to avoid police encounters entirely, so when someone threatens me with a police encounter I won't challenge them, but they will get a salute as I go about my merry way.. a handful of zincolns is not worth the hassle.. there will always be more elsewhere..
the wendy's event caused me to change the way I approached the nightly enterprise, for the better.. it was 2019 and I was only into it by a year, or year & a half, still figuring it out, trying to streamline the process... make it smooth & easy & 'quick' & minimally profitable..
