it's only a recent idea for me.




i don't know. I guess my thought is: if earth-orbiting satellites can zoom down to read newspapers on a park bench, then they can also program the satellites to zoom down and identify coins & cash on the ground, the info generated then appears instantly in the app on an interactive map that lets you see where the money is, what the money consists of/how much money is there and an approximation of how much time it'll take you to go get it via different modes of transportation (walking, bus, bike, car, moped, electric scooter, rollerblades/skateboard, etc.). if someone else finds it before you get there, it disappears from the map.

if they can make games like po-ke-mon & grand theft auto, they can jolly-well create the Find-D-Money app.




i would think the satellites could also be programmed to ignore looking at or into certain things, like cash registers & bank vaults, etc... i'd think they'd be programmed to only scan the ground.

Hey Disco Lover, I actually don't know the date on the road rashed one, its pretty beat up, may 1930 but its most likely a 1950, part of the decade date is missing.

When I saw it was a 1955, I thought.... can it be the DDO. Sadly nope.

MrPink, there was a trash can about 20 feet away. Sometimes I really hate people.

Yep, nasty liquids, garbage, etc. are all part of the game. The annoying ones are when I see something on the ground that looks like a coin from a distance, but when I go over to pick it up, it's just dried gum...you'd have to be pretty gross just to spit your gum out onto the street, but you see it everywhere. A lot of easily removable non-infectious garbage (candy/food wrappers and the like) I just pick up and throw away.

I've never seen a dirty diaper on the street, but I have seen bags of doggy doo-doo. Both are equally disgusting if you ask me. And right now with it being snow melting season, there's a whole bunch of nastiness everywhere that had been hidden until recently. I've picked up pennies that are so thoroughly destroyed (zinc rot) that I've had the thought of "gosh I'm going to get tetanus from this", and one once near a known homeless hangout that had a sort of *perhaps a yellow fluid* smell to it when I picked it up. Sometimes feeling gross is just part of life, especially with scroungy hobbies like this I guess.

And believe me when I say this, as a college student on a campus with over ten thousand others: college students are little better than elementary school kids. I'll spare you guys the nasty stories I heard this summer from a co-worker who used to be a dorm custodian.

I picked up the below yesterday. One of the weirdest pick ups in that as I was walking I kept finding money. It wasn't like 75 cents here and a few cents here, it was cent, cent, nickel, quarter, cent, cent, crusty dime, crusty nickel, cent (way too crusty to pick up).

Still not a bad day. I rolled up $5 in dimes. So may make a deposit by end of month.
