Zurich, Schilling, 1741, CC left and genuine right.
The genuine is thinner, weighs less and has greater density. I enjoy collecting and documenting contemporary counterfeits side-by-side in my binder of photos and data.

I agree much rougher engraving on the die used to make the piece on the left. Any chance of you posting images of the obv too? I'm interested to see how well the scrollwork on the shield was done.

The shield side is rather poor compared to the good coin.
I may follow up just to show the scroll on the shield.

Nothing to gain here. It's just cropped to show the same.

Albert That is a great way to collect counterfeit issues. How many do you have where you have the pair? I have had to sell off most of genuine coins to pay for my bad habit of buying new counterfeits.

The World Counterfeits Binder has 102 pairs A to Z. I have special project binders for Austria, Cayenne and China.
Cayenne has been especially difficult for me not really understanding what I have for many, and sellers not really knowing what they are selling.
A good number of coins confuse many people in that they do not know or cannot tell if genuine or not. It's a great time consuming and interesting hobby while retired.

Yes I did and I recall that maybe I got off on the wrong foot for a topic that would result in a lot of photos.
Apart from that, the limit of 300KB caused me to fail to show most pages in a suitable resolution to see the detail.
