Good Morning, this is my first post besides intro a couple of weeks ago.
Please excuse my inexperience although I am anxious to learn.
Recently I acquired a coin collection that has lots of various bank rolled coins that are all from before 2003. One roll of Sacagawea dollars has an end coin 2000 D with a circle imprinted near the edge of the coin that goes through all letters of Liberty, the last Zero in 2000 and all the way through the 2 more letters in INGod WE Trust. A nickel fits perfectly inside the circle. I have not opened the roll and have pictures showing the circle. Can someone help with an explanation.

Agree with John, when the machine closes the ends of the rolls it some times is not set right and a scratch appears.

Thank you for y'alls knowledge and comments. That was my impression as well.
I am happy that experienced collectors are available to give their insight. Especially since I have not found any information or pictures about damage making a circle of this size....one of the reason's I am Looking forward to learning from the site.
Once again, Thank you and Happy New Year.

4Jewels, 1st post and already contributed more than I.

If ok I might refer others to this image in the future as the question comes up pert near on a daily basis. Some posters need more convincing than others when finding an example on a single coin in pocket change.

Seeing an example of the damaged end coin still in the wrapper may make the point easier for some to understand. Thanks, Doug.

If you open the roll, I would like a full image for my educational files.

So far the only Sac listed on Variety Vista is on a 2007-P:

This is the target area for DDRs for this series so far.
It is quite noticeable:

I know your roll is not that year, but that would be the target area to search other dates for DDRs.
Wexler doesn't have any listed yet. So now that we know the target area, lets get out there and find more of them?

Also if going through rolls of them, you might think about adding Cheerios to your radar list. 2000P mint. Thanks, Doug.
