I have a 1965 quarter with a mint mark. I have been reading online and found out they are not suppose to have one and all the other 1965 quarters I have do not have one. Also, this mint mark is located in the mid upper right corner of the coin. Just wondering if anybody has any info on if this coin is rare and could possibly be worth any money.

Whatever you are seeing is not a mint mark. In 1965 they didn't use mint marks.

How can you explain the "D" on the quarter? I looked at it with a magnifying glass. My phone camera isn't that great of quality.

possibly a dropped letter. Definitely not a mm.

Are you talking about that little area beneath the letter Y?

That is not a "D" mintmark and is not a dropped letter. It looks like some sort of stain or other mark. A true mm would be raised like the rest of the lettering. Please believe what the experienced members are telling you.

I agree with above, not a MM and not a D , it is a stain.

Just a coincidental image created by some extraneous factor - an odd circulation hit or corrosion spot perhaps. to the CCF!

@timskylark Probably going to be a similar answer for you as well, in 1965 they just didn't use mint marks. On top of that, the P mint mark wasn't in use in the 60s, it made its debut on quarters in the 70s.
But, you can always start a topic about it and include some photos!
