Hi guy I have a 1998 Lincoln Penny where the L in liberty and the T in God we trust appear to be syncing or collapsing into the penny is anyone ever heard of this and it's so you know what it's called. Thanks.

That is called zinc rot.

Yes the underlying zinc core is starting to deteriorate and this undermines the copper plating. This coin is a spender.

Probably a split in the plating on those areas. Front, back or even the edges.
