Thoughts on this one? Seller had it listed as "circulated", with mediocre pictures, but I thought it might be nicer in-hand and it was cheap as all get out so I pulled the trigger.

I think it's around AU55 but I am terrible at grading these. Luster is decent in hand but not overwhelming -- it does cartwheel -- and fields are in good shape.

I agree with AU55. Not a bad looking coin.

It looks MS to me, but high in slider potential. Either way, it's a lovely Buff.

I agree, it looks low MS to me. Strong strike, nice luster. Looks like one I would be proud to show in my collection. But what do I know.
Rest in Peace

I don't think I ever saw a circulated Buff with a split tail . This coin has a real nice strike , I'm tempted to call it uncirculated . My brain is frying on this one , ok ,here goes MS-62. I would have went a tad higher if it had more luster .

A lot of tiny nicks on the rim suggests light circulation, but very close to MS. I'd say AU-58 with a typical 38-D strong strike.

I could go either way on this one, so I won't take a guess without holding it in hand.

I'll try to get pictures that capture the luster better. I'm leaning towards MS62 or so. It's not worth slabbing to find out "for sure" but high AU or low MS both make good cases.
