No - either a clean hit just pushed it sideways, or it's a 1944 with part of the second 4 partially filled with grease. Can you give u a close-up?

Just Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Not an error. This can't/never will ever happen at the U.S. Mint.

Rolling/Wrapping machines do that. We've seen the same damage many times. Ones seem to fall victim most often.

Actually it was damaged in a vending machine. Coin Wrapping Machine leave incuse marks on the fields in between the 2nd & 3rd digit.

Yes ok @coop I got it.

Coin wrapping machines leave circumferential gouges a few millimeters in from the rim. Gumball machines slant the last digit of the date.
