Nice. Good reason to send PL coins to NGC. Was that thread on it when you sent it or did it appear when it came back?

Not familiar with these - but is the reverse rotated 90 degrees from the obverse? Is that normal? Beautiful coin btw.

Thanks guys. Yah, it was kind of a nice surprise. I don't care too much for this particular coin (much too small for my liking), I was just being opportunistic, so that grade was an affirmation of my gamble. As for the 90 degree rotation, you are right, it is very uncommon from my research, but there are other examples of such instances. I was not aware of this rotation when bidding and was very concerned about authenticity when I received the item. Finding other examples with his unusual rotation helped calm things down. https://coins.ha.com/itm/california...ption-071515

Very cool coin! These have always been very interesting items, but also very expensive for many of them, puts them out of my price range most of the time.
