Hi I'm new to this so please give me any help! I recently purchased an 1885 Trade dollar which I know is rare can't get NGC or PCGS to help me. It does not weigh what my others do is it possible it could weigh less? Thanks

It is certainly fake. There were only 5 1885 minted, all proof and it is heavily counterfeited. Post pictures if you can but don't get your hopes up.

Only 5 proof examples were produced in 1885. It is safe to say there are many more Chinese made than US mint struck.

There was no 1885 S Trade dollar minted If your coin has a S mint mark 100% fake. As noted, there were 5 1885 proof Trade dollars minted.

21.4 grams. Certainly counterfeit-no further evidence is needed.

Quote: Where was minted Your coin was minted in China (likely Guangdong province).
