Yeah, VF-ish. Looks original. Clash marks are common on these coins and generally are not worth any premium. A quick check on ebay shows comparable coins are selling in the $20-25 range so I think you overpaid.

I think it is a solid VF, and $35 with strong clashes is not bad if that is what you are collecting. What I find interesting about it Is the fact that there are clashes but no other evidence of Die Deterioration ( unless it is not showing in the picture ).

Yep NS, I'm pretty happy with it for now. I don't see much if any of an upgrade in the furture. I don't like nickels or nickel based coins in general, they just don't do it for me. So it doesn't matter what grade it is to me. My type set buffalo was F-12 and I upgraded to a PCGS MS65 and to be honest there isn't much of a difference to me.
