I just found this I can never tell the difference between md and double does any help would be great thanks

That effect is caused by extreme Die Deterioration. *Doubled Die

So it's not a double die just Die Deterioration

It is called Ridge Ring. The die is breaking down with usage and die abrasion. This happened a lot on the obverses of the 1980's Zincolns. Very common. On the shields there is also a same event on them, but more of a die flow issue there, rather than the ring.
