Hi everyone. I come across this 1988 D Kennedy half dollar and I notice the strike of the D it's closer to the date when I compared with another 1988 coin. Its that considered an error? Thanks from a newbie.

RPMs were added by hand until 1990 where the mint marks are part of the design. So they can be in different locations at different angles pre 1989 coins.

Thank you for your knowledge. I look forward in posting more coins. I do have a bicentennial that look very good but I shows two letter faded only. That will be my next. Thanks
