Call me Patrick I collect everything I have coins as old is Jesus I collect eagles memorabilia collector stamps I collect anything that's worth collecting. What brings me here today is I just was given some coins from my mom who got them from my grandfather who understand and queen store and I am just trying to get a vague appraisal not just a dollar worth but of the details of the coins. The one piece I got today that I'm really excited about is a 1874 bronze queen celebrating our country's hundredth birthday still in the original case. It may not be the most valuable but it's one of my favorites. I will try and post some pictures but I've been having a very difficult time it seems they are too large no matter what I do you to crop them down doesn't seem to be good enough but I'll work on it [

I'm hoping a member with the knowledge can look at that 1852 Indian quarter dollar and give me their opinion or any information they might have on it. I've been having a heckuva time navigating on this site there's so many other queens I wanted to post and so many other forms I wanted to visit but I'll try and get more proficient

Search terms like this one online: "California Fractional Gold History" and other variations.

I looked for a couple hours last night I couldn't find that exact coin I believe a lot of people had tokens and not authentic California gold 1852 1/4 dollars. It made it hard to grade the coin also. But I will keep looking and thank you for your input

The picture is fuzzy and you may very well have a replica and not a genuine at all.

A major issue I'm having trying to find this coin is finding one that has the Indian on the front but the year is on the back. It is also round. As I stated earlier I would be very surprised if this turned out to be a token. Only because of where the coin came from.

I'm sorry about the picture Albert I was having a difficult time posting one but I can try and do better. The reason I don't think it's a token is because the coin came from my grandfather who dealt in stamps and coins his whole life he actually had a store in Reading Pennsylvania and he left this quaint to my mother. Unfortunately the bank came and talk about 1,000,000 1/2 dollars in stamps coins and gold but this one was passed down to her and I wouldn't think he would leave her a replica coin. But it is possible that's why I was trying to research it the best I could but it's hard to find a good example

All genuine California fractional gold coins have the denomination clearly stated. Those pieces without a denomination are later souvenir tokens.

Thanks for the info I'll look into that. Although I did find a couple being auctioned off for close to $1000 without the denomination. I appreciate the feedback I just haven't had time to research today I've been sorting through approximately 10,000 wheat pennies and over1000 quarters. and finding some interesting specimens. Not to mention all the Nichols dimes 50 Cent coins. At this point I'm just trying to organize everything the best I can and figure out what has value. But anyway I'll get back on that gold coin tomorrow and I do appreciate the input
