Yeah, with all the contact marks MS-62 is about the best you could expect. At least in the GSA holder you can be confident it is a genuine uncirculated coin!

@IndianGoldEagle and @Coinfrog I know, I'm sorry my full pictures were blurry so I just didn't post them and could not retake photos last night. Also I posted in the wrong forum. As my title indicates, I'm questioning which variety this coin is (8 over high 7?). So when I get better photos should I post them here or in the variety and error forum? As always, thank you for your kind help.

MS61 GSA that scrape/gash is in the prime focal area so it will affect the grade much more than if it was just about anywhere else on this coin. Looks most like the VAM 5 to me. Need photos of the lower left wreath area to confirm.

I would say a VAM 5 for sure. I won't grade it as I see a lot I don't like that causes me to knock the grade pretty low but I'm still a rookie. Others will chime in.

Yep sure looks like a VAM 5 variety to me as well, the die gouge in the eagles tail to arrow feathers matches up, as does the date overlay. Still say MS61 at best on the grade though the luster looks great so maybe a push to MS62.
