Hey Guys,, This one was easy to catch. I thought of Ghosting at first but the "halo" is on the obverse and reverse. Then there is the Cauliflower Ear, the doubled neck and maybe a doubled 2. Your expertise please.

That's called Progressive Indirect Design Transfer. It's a form of Die Deterioration. Your coin is in a Late Die State, because of the die flow lines showing and mushy details.

Maybe PIDT, but not seeing a distinct pattern. Also the obverse (die) recession seems a bit more severe. Still in line with Die Deterioration, I'm wondering if a bit of Die Subsidence (a.k.a., sunken die) is afoot? Couldn't find any known examples. Thanks, Doug.

PS: I'll admit the first image made me think heat bubble, but the weak reverse suggests otherwise. What ever it is, it the obverse sure seems to be sucking the life material from the reverse during the strike.

Heavy die polishing, die flow on the fields, circulation flattening, Machine Doubling and Struck Through Grease and a weak 'FG' from the die abrasion.
This coin has it all and it is just a face value coin. (looks like cauliflower ear also)

What accounts for the doubled detail (looks like bent trumpets) and the neck rippling?
