The size of the damage matches the size of a Kennedy half as shown in the third photo with the damaged coin overlay on another half dollar. But idk about the triangular split/clip on the other side or the tracks through his face!

I'm going with damage. PMD
The fact that the coin is bent tells me it is damage.
Also there is no such thing as a triangular clip.
See what other opinions are.i

Maybe someone was trying to create an error coin.

I agree with PMD. The "clip" is not a clip. Looks like someone cut it with a band saw. There is nothing there that would indicate a clip.

Note a mint error. Just someone took out their frustrations on it. It was normal when it was struck.
