I've looked at any dollar I could ever since I first heard of these "fancy" serial numbers and I haven't found any until now. Its creased but I think the major creases can be flattened out, still somewhat crisp.

Hey, nice find. In that condition I'm not sure it's worth much but I'd sure keep it (mostly since I've never found a radar in the wild).

Nice one! I got mine in change at the bank and as she handed me my cash I thought, "What if I got a cool bill? LOL that won't happen!"

It did. I found it funny.

What makes a serial number worth anything? Is it the numbers that go in a certain pattern, or is there something rare about it?

Keep it in your Red Book for awhile. It will flatten out. Nice catch.

Yes.

The OP's note serial number is a RADAR. It reads the same forward or backwards. Other fancy serial numbers are ladders, solids, repeaters and others. Click on this link and view examples of each type. http://www.coolserialnumbers.com/Fa...Numbers.aspx

Our minds are often fascinated by patterns in numbers. It is sometimes associated with OCD.

Never heard of the term Radar before when pertaining to currency.

Interesting. I'll have to keep my eye out going forward.
