Grease filled die. Quite common, you can see how it has also partially
affected some of the letters around it.

The obverse is also showing very heavy polishing. Note the 'TY' on Liberty is weakened. Same on reverse initials. But more of a normal issue with metal movement during the strike. This area is common to show weakness.

Over Polished die issue. Very common for that year, as they pushed the crap out of these dies as long as they could.
