As coinfrog says, been soldered on something to make a piece of jewelry
and has been polished. PMD.

I am so sorry to call this an error coin. It was in a 25 pound box of Canadian pennies I bought in 2012. I finally opened it and there was this beauty. I guess the error was by the jeweler who cannot solder. And by excitable me. I will confess, I wondered if this was something special. But I am 1 goofy penny to the good and happy for it. Best regards and I will offer from my puny knowledge to pay forward if ever I can.
