I have search ebay and your site for 1968 S/S pennies and have found many matching the descriptions I have entered. The pictures however have not matched. I am very new at this game. So I better let the pictures speak. My camera is not the greatest, but hope it will do.

Not a Doubled Die or an RPM. Just Machine Doubling that reduced the size of the mintmark.

and guys what year was it that they first noticed a break in the mint mark punch...68 or 69? One must keep that in mind when searching..I think it was 69..

Practically all mintmarks break down. It is punching into a tempered die that messes them up. Some years use more than one mintmark punch and post 1990, no mintmark punch are used.
