Bad date logotype (as I thought) also a match to fake coins sold previously through the No-No site. Said it was an exact match. I sent them a link here so they could also see all the photos posted.

I was comparing the dates of slabbed 1868 2c's and it looks like the interior circles in the 8s and 6 appear elongated whereas the ones in this coin look round. NCG says that there are a lot of die pair varieties for this year, but doesn't say how many. Not looking good for this coin.

This is like a numismatic novel. Can't wait for the next chapter. This coin would have fooled me.

To me it was one of those coins that as soon as you see it you know it's fake. If they made the date not so cartoonish it would be hard to detect.

These fake coins are getting better and better that's not good. This would have fooled me also. Looks like I am going to have to do more research to protect myself.

I suspect it will only hurt the hobby more, it will take awhile before it ever get's better, I'm afraid.

/see my ubiquitous tagline, it will end up saving us. More knowledgeable collectors = a brighter future for coin collecting.

Looking at the newer photos, the writing on the reverse looks very mushy and not sharp enough to be original, imo. I see its a fake but I noticed this before reading.
