None listed on Coppercoins. Noticed this while checking MM for another post.

I don't think the devil wants my soul for some decent pictures of a proof coin, just all my Morgans.

Very interesting...I'm curious what LIBERTY looks like at different lighting angles. Update: those new shots are interesting too...I'm perplexed and waiting for the experts.
I seem to recall that proof dies are used for short runs--is Die Deterioration even possible? Btw, have you posted this to the Coppercoins forum? You might get some response there.

This is one of more than 500 different dies created with a master die that had doubling on it. It's called master die doubling and does not carry a premium value even though it is a true hub doubled die. Reason for this is because over half of all 1972 cents have this doubling...too common to be collectible.

In Lincoln cents:

1937, 1938, 1944, 1955, 1957, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1982

In Jefferson nickels:

Virtually all nickels made from 1939-1960 (and possibly beyond) show the same doubling on the obverse.

I don't know about the rest, but it is fairly common.

I do know that most 1951 and 1953 quarters show the same minor doubling in the motto.

Thanks again, I'll put this in my "Gleaning File" from you, Bill, and others on this site. I noticed you gave the same answer about a 1960 I posted quite a while ago.
