The lines are stronger on the obverse, than the reverse... is this DDD or Struck Through Grease?

The obverse has dark vertical lines running through the entire coin.

Those lines are called rolling lines from the stock material. Some reason when they are struck, they just don't go away. As the coin ages and the luster goes away, these lines will even be stronger looking.
