'Struck in metal on Obverse' AU58 PCGS. Copper? I'll probably never know for sure, but I think it's pretty awesome.

A semi-key date in high grade, but the struck through probably decreases the value. I could be wrong, but just my opinion, if I was collecting them I would deem it less desirable than a normal strike. We're not a tough crowd, just telling it like it is.

Wasn't asking about value. There really aren't many struck through other metal errors out there, and for that, it is interesting and I'm happy with it. Plus, it goes with my '57 Flying Eagle that has a piece of silver struck into it.

He stated in original post it was PCGS AU-58 unless I misinterpreted it.

Yes we can be a tough crowd sometimes, but in my opinion it adds a nice aspect of character to this IHC.

Coinfrog - That's a good way to put it. I got it because of the character (and didn't pay a bit of a premium for the error). It has a good provenance too: Bob Lutzel --> Rick Snow --> me.
