I found this in the register today. Only 12 notes away but not in the best of shape. Close enough?

My advice is that you are best keeping it that way!

This is giving me a good laugh. It's a refreshing break from the "birthday note" craze if nothing else.

What's next? Avogadro's Number? The Planck Constant? Earth's G?

I gotta admit, that is pretty darn cool (to certain folks, obviously). If it were the actual 8-digit Pi representation, I'd probably pay for that. Maybe just White-Out or bleach out the last 2 digits and have some fun with it. Condition is lousy so it won't matter one bit.

cashhound -- of course I'm poking a little fun but I still think it's a cool find. Keep up the hunt. You come across some interesting things.

It's kinda fun actually. I'd be interested in seeing a closer one!

Ok, now that some of you had your fun I'd like to explain my past. I am a retired Mechanical Engineer and have used this number many times in my calculations. But better yet I invite you to read this article.

As would I.

An interesting note. Close, but not quite.

Even the closest note will still only be close because pi is unlimited. Unfortunately, pie is not unlimited...

Pi is irrational and transcendental.

We can just say the "display" (serial number) is truncated.
