At first I thought this was just a defective die error. But now, after looking at the pictures it looks like 'United States of America' is above Roosevelt's head lightly. And some symbol is between his face & Liberty. On the back, a line goes from the dot in between the words United & One on the left leading though the 'O' in the word one. Also a faint design can be seen in the open areas like on the front. Does anyone know what type of error coin this is?

to the Community.

Without a picture no one would be able to help you and answer your question. A photo of both reverse and obverse are needed.

@bl1963, first welcome to CCF.

Your pics are now up--thanks for adding them. I am having trouble seeing what you have described though. On the reverse, it looks to me like there is surface staining that covers most of the left-hand side of the coin. Sorry but I am really struggling to see much of anything with your picture of the obverse.

Definitely a stained coin from PSD. You can safely spend it.
