I've had a growing interest in coin collecting for the past year and don't have a full understanding of what could be an error, or damage, or a fake. I tried to find some sort of information for this but with all the different lingo in the coin collecting world I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for because I don't really know what I'm looking at. Any information that someone can give me on this 2017 Dime would be very much appreciated.

Welcome! At first glance it looks like a Lincoln Penny reverse die struck the front of this dime. If that is the case, I do not know enough about the minting process to explain how that could happen. It is interesting though, never seen one like this.

Hi. First off welcome to the hobby! It's quite a bit in the error and variety aspect of coin collecting to learn, bit in time it will make sense.just try to learn one type at a time like double die vs. Machine Doubling and on from there.

As far as your dime is concernew it looks to me like someone superglued a penny to the dime and the cent left a reverse imprint in glue on the face of your dime.post mint damage and not a mint error.

to the forum!

It is likely someone glued a cent to this dime and what you are seeing is the imprint of the cent on the glue.
