I wanted to know if this 1955 penny is a

poor man's double die?


It as a weird look that a can't get to

picture properly on photos.

Also I tried to identify it through varietyvista

but my skills are just too weak to do so...

Looks like a poor man's doubled,which is really a worn die issue. Nice eye appeal also.

The Poor Man's Doubled Die isn't even a Doubled Die. Just common Die Deterioration Doubling from a worn die issue.

But there is no premium for these. They are just subject to extreme die wear. Anyone buying these for a premium to make up his whole collection, would be the poor man when trying to sell these. In a bu roll of 50 tubed cents, there were 19 of these from several different dies. Not a premium coin in my book.
