Acetone won't hurt, just don't be tempted to rub.
Putting this coin between a couple layers of newspaper (without printing) in a sunny window for a couple months may help with a Retone.

The lady said she cleaned them in tomato juice if that helps with any other methods to undo? Thanks for the tip, I've never heard of that before!

Horrible cleaning job. Looks like it was done with acid and a Brillo pad!

A nice no problem IHC cleaned with Tomato juice . What more can possibly ruin my day ? Acetone would not reverse the trauma that was subjected to this coin . Quote:

Don't shoot the messenger guys lol! I didn't clean them, that's why I'm asking about them to see if there is anything I can do to somewhat restore them or their value?
