I believe this coin is from the Roman Republic, but I need help with a positive ID and Crawford number. It appears to depict Saturn facing right on the obverse and possibly a ship prow facing right on the reverse, with a large S at 12:00 and ROMA at 6:00. It weighs 18.1 grams and is struck on an irregular planchet, so the diameter varies from obverse (29mm) to reverse (26mm) as you can see in the last three photos. I'm not sure which side would be the proper size for the planchet.

These coins were struck on an irregular flan and indication that it's genuine. Your coin is and anonymous Semis struck after 211 BC. The weight on this coins are an important factor to find the correct Crawford number. The closest weight that I could find to your coin was 20 grams. This would suggest your coin is Crawford 86B/2

Thank you for your feedback echizento! Glad to know this coin is likely genuine. Looking up Crawford 86B/2 shows an anchor in the right reverse field which this coin doesn't have. Any other thoughts from the CCF?

Not my area of expertise, but I like the irregular planchet diameter. Assuming that this is an artifact of the manufacturing process, I wonder if perhaps blanks were forged into planchets and that explains the diameter discrepancy.
