2018 P Quarter Rhode Island with die chip and looks like could be some DDO and DDR? Not sure what's going on with the mint mark

Machine Doubling and heavy Die Deterioration. Safe to spend IMO.

Note a die scratch, but a coin scratch. It looks like it flows behind the dvices, but the devices are incuse and deeper than the coin scratch. (The devices that are on the outside of the ATB are raised on the die, incuse on the coins. So scratches and damage affects the field, but has to be real deep to affect the incuse devices)
ID: EPU on Shield cents are also incuse:

The damage has to be this strong to show on the devices of these incuse ones.

This is a form of Die Deterioration Doubling. Google "Ken Potter Die Deterioration Doubling" to see many of my articles on this subject.
