Is this normal, Die Deterioration, or something else? I looked at design examples for this year and didn't see anything similar. Thanks!

Nothing listed for that year on Variety vista:
http://www.varietyvista.com/09b%20W...Listings.htm

Nothing listed on Wexler's site either:

So it maybe Machine Doubling. I see no evidence of hub doubling. The outline of the face looks lowered on the edge of the devices. (no evidence of a spread)

thanks Coop, I'm also noticing an odd right-angled depression located behind the nostril running down to the upper lip. I guess that could be a hit but it does look mechanical.

Any other opinions from the CCF?

Looks more like a hit to me, but

Thanks Spence, what's your opinion on the extra area around the chin?

Well at first I thought it was just the lighting that you were using in the pics, but it really does seem like George's chin is flattened along the edge of the profile. I don't see how it could be struck that way, so must be damage even if there isn't an easy explanation for how it happened.

Thanks again Spence, that actually helps me understand how some of the veterans of CCF see things. Being fairly new to the hobby I tend to think that if there is no good explanation for something then its probably an error whereas the experts tend to use Occams Razor and say without a good explanation it must be damage.
