It appears to have a die crack running from Abes temple north to his hairline ? Also seems to be possibly a lamination running from east to west on his eyebrow and then turning north to his hairline. The material seems to be thicker on his forhead ? Not sure what that scratch is on the reverse maybe PSD. Thanks in advance for your opinions ....Rick

On the obverse, I think there's a Die Crack on the temple. The reverse I think shows a Linear Plating Bubble. Last thing to note, is the obverse and reverse shows Split Plate Doubling as well. http://www.error-ref.com/split-plate-doubling/ http://www.error-ref.com/blisteredplating/

While looking at that die cracks on his head, I noticed the nose...just gross.

Can we get a close up of that?
Thanks

Zinc cents don't laminate. So a closer view may show what is really going on with Abe's head? Can't take him anywhere without his helmet. LOL

Thank you for the information ,I have a better understanding of the process because of the links posted !I went to Wexlers but could not find anything similar. If I could post a better close up of his nose I would but I dont have sophisticated equipment. I took the pic with my handy-cam, saved it on my computer, resized it to 25% and then cropped it in "paint" . The handy cam is only a 5.3 mega pixels . Thanks Everyone ...Rick
