Scotland should be asleep right now, so I can get this thread started. Here is a penny issued by Alexander III from AD 1280 to 1286. It is attributed as Spink 5053.

Ok hmm, it seems like your thread isn't getting a lot of love here @idk. Consider that we have a separate area of CCF for coins minted prior to 1600 called "Ancient, Greek, Roman, and Medieval Coins". Consider clicking on the link in the bottom right of your post that says "report this post to the staff" and ask them to move it there.

These seem to have widely circulated around the British Isles at the time. Most of the ones I've seen have been found in England, does anyone know why this is?

A hammered Scottish coin is definitely on my "to buy" list, and soon. When I pick something up I'll post it.
