Just Added This Augustus Denarius - Coin Community Forum

orfew Pillar of the Community Canada 1269 Posts	Posted 07/18/2019 12:18 pm Last week I posted an Augustus denarius with Tiberius as Caesar on the reverse. I was looking at the 3 12 Caesars sets and noticed that the 3rd set had a bronze coin of the Tiberius but rest were silver. I have decided to use the Augustus coin as the Tiberius for that set. That meant I needed another silver coin of Augustus. This one popped up on ebay last night and I grabbed it. I have always liked the Bull butting reverse for Augustus and this one was special. It had the bull butting left instead of the normal butting right. I know the coin is worn but I love the portrait and the reverse. When this coin arrives I will have 3 complete 12 Caesars sets in silver. Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR denarius . Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Struck 10 BC.
