I was re-examining this coin and looked at the reverse a little closer and realized that the Reverse is a Die rotation error! Not big, like a 90 degree plus die rotation error etc, but decent enough to be noticed. Since this coin is already 1 of only 3 total POP for NGC-Graded MS65RD as a 1960 D/D Large Date 1 Cent would it be worthwhile having the die-rotation error officially documented also?

chuck, would you mind telling me how much it costs to get coins graded by Ngc? and also which magnification do you prefer on coins?

The rotation is not enough to warrant having it noted on the label. I don't believe NGC will note it unless it is a significant degree off.

I contacted NGC, the die rotation must be a minimum of 15 degrees off to be noted on the label.
This one looks like its around 20 degrees.
Can anyone tell from the pics about how many degrees?
I used a protractor etc and keep coming up with 20 degrees, so unless my math is bad, its worth sending it in for an additional $10.00 designation service fee.

Really only worth sending in for an additional $10 if it's scarce among the same die...all of them (or most of them) could be that way, just not annotated as such.

Hi Chuck:
True, but right now the fact is that NGC is only showing 3 that they actually graded VP002 MS65RD, and one of them is this coin which also has a die rotation error on it.
I don't know about all the one's that are sitting in someone's collection at their homes not graded by NGC that COULD have a die rotation error also.
I know this coin does, and as such, its going to be well worth spending the $10.00 to have a double attribution on it. :)
Thanks again to all who responded, appreciate it.
Chuck.
