I'm probably just years behind in my knowledge/awareness of these things, but I only recently noticed that the 1969 mint sets I have, contain two 'S' mint nickels...one in the Philly and one in the Denver packet. No 'D' mint nickel. I also observed that the envelopes are 1968 envelopes marked out & relabeled 1969. Is it the case that all the reused envelope sets have no 'D' nickel? Or, is there any data on how many sets went out this way? Thanks for any light you can shed on this. Wayne

If you can get pictures of your set, that would be great.

Working on pics. Not a camera buff. difficult to get close-up pics with any quality through mint-set cellophane. I have a few of these peculiar sets, so I expected to hear that they're quite common. Anyway, if I'm not successful at any good pics, thanks for your responses.

If the date has been changed it was most likely done by someone who had the set but not the proper envelope for it. as for the two S mint nickels, that is a packaging error and does not increase the value by more than a dollar or two.

Thanks for all responses. I basically figured this would make little to no difference in value, but it's just a nice curious fluke. Wayne

-Hello WayneB47, I just found a 1969 mint set with the same characteristic -- 2 S Nickels (vs D Nickel in the Denver section).
