You should start a new thread for your coin.

What your picture is showing is damage to the coin PMD. That mark is a hit from the reeded edge of another coin. You should show pictures of the entire coin front and back. Right now, your quarter is worth 25 cents.

Twenty five cents. The coin was a plated example that HSN were selling on TV, States quarters and the fold plated and platinum examples. Why are they in circulation? The States quarters were a hot item back in the day. People was finding excuses to save them. (I still have rolls, but as I need cash, I use them) But the plated coin are not the original finish. They were selling these coins to the rubes who thought they were going to be valuable. But like the Avon Bottles, Beanie Babies and these altered quarters, they eventually go away when the graze is gone:

So where the sellers and the collectors slowly disposed of them into the thirst stores and putting the coin back into circulation. So your coin is worth twenty five cents.

To CCF! Your coin has been plated and shows a contact mark from a reeded edge from a Quarter. PSD.
