@ktb, sorry but can you be a little more descriptive with respect to "recline"? Thx.

There's nothing under in God we trust.the field of the coin is reclining away from the rim.

The dark spots you see. Are just empty space below the letters , you have to be able to magnify it.in order to see what I mean.

I see a scrape under UNUM, but other than that I'm not seeing what you are asking about.
Maybe it's reclining because it's break time?
Sorry. Perhaps a closer cropped photo?

Looks normal with some staining (or grime) around the perimeter of the obverse.

Looks like crude around the letters, can't really see where the field meets the rim.

Conder101 .thank you, that's what I'm trying to say, the field doesn't meet the rim.it looks like a hole under the letters.I can draw it very close on my phone, but I don't guess anyone can.it's the only way to see it.nick7

I see coin wear as a issue on this coin. Back then small denominations were use a lot in vending machines. So they suffered a lot going through the mechanics to supply a product, music, cigarettes, soda, gum, nuts, pinball, lockers, phone calls and many other things as well.
